Hammonia Triathlon Team ITU WORLD Triathlon in Hamburg

"The world’s biggest tri": how the International Triathlon Union (ITU) promoted their competition in Hamburg. Same took place on the 16th and 17th of July 2016 for the 15th time. It is part of the ITU’s World Triathlon Series where professionals and age-groups raced the course together.

Included among thes age-groups was Hammonia’s speedy relay team, racing the unique course: swimming in the Alster Lake, racing the bike course along the Elbe and running on the bank around the Alster Lake. The team's first athlete, Marcel Schwarz, left the Alster after swimming an amazing 29 minutes for the 1.5 kilometer distance, marking a good starting point for the next racer René Menzel to tackle the 40 kilometers bike race course. After just 1 hour he returned to the transition zone and sent runner Ronny Tesch onto the last leg. After 44 minutes the 10 kilometers were done, and the team finally crossed the finish line ranking 30 out of the 490 participating teams.
